As soon as you drop it, the first thing you see is the slightly changed menus. The next is something well-known. As in the original, the single player is again divided into three major campaigns - Russian, British and American. In each one you will participate as a regular soldier. Again, you will accept different identities and have a direct commander. Naturally, you will fight in key battles across Europe, even in North Africa.
You start as Private Vasily Ivanovich Kozlov. To begin with, you must repel the Germans at the gates of Moscow in the winter of the 41st. Your next appointment is in the besieged Stalingrad. There you will engage in the heroic defense of the city, and later in the repulsion of the fascists. Unfortunately, as a vision, this is the most uniform campaign. At one point I began to feel claustrophobic about these ruined and gray cities.
In the ranks of the Red Army you will be part of an anti-tank command. You will walk around the empty streets, looking for a panther to stick sticky bombs. A nice impression added to me that after finishing in the Russian capital, the British mission was unlocked. This way you can diversify and jog the campaigns in parallel. Similarly, in the middle of the English flag battles, you will have the chance to start with the Yankees.
As a soldier of His Majesty you will play on behalf of Sergeant John Davis of the glorified tank division - Desert Rats. You will chase Rumel from Egypt to Tunisia, and later you will take part in the heavy fighting for the French city of Caen. Only in this campaign will you have the pleasure of enjoying the roar of tank battles in the African Desert as Commander of the Crusader. You will make the Panzer III and Panzer IV glamorous with plenty of friendly armor, but it will not be easy for you.
After completing the tasks on behalf of the crown, it is your turn to serve with American paws. Already in the first mission, you will experience the horror of the landing in Normandy through the look of Corporal Bill Taylor. The shore attack is indeed delivered with documentary realism and will definitely not leave you indifferent.

The levels are much more extensive and well balanced than the original and will certainly satisfy every taste. The specific tasks range from eliminating enemy fortified bunkers, cannons and tanks to guard key roads until reinforcements come. I liked the fact that the game became much less non-linear. Indeed, the end result is always the elimination of all the Germans on the map, but you can already choose the order of the sub-commissions and thus apply a little tactics.
So briefly I told about the story of CoD 2 and as you noticed, it is almost no different from the original. The developers of Infinity Ward have very wisely decided to keep one of the strongest aspects of the first part. It is now up to me to talk about the changes only, and they are not at all small.
I'll start with the amazing graphics. The Call of Duty vision has never irritated my eyes, but when I saw what the new CoD 2 engine is doing, I was delighted. I found myself in a large, open world full of realistically demolishing buildings and stunning explosions. The textures look more than great. The attention of the designers to the details blurred me. Ending with everlasting uniforms - you can see even the snow and mud on the shingles. Adding many such tiny elements combined with the cinematic view of the levels and stunning sounding helps you completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Second World War. Several times during the fierce shootings I had the feeling that I was not playing

Indeed, the chart of the new game is not the absolute pinnacle of modern gaming, but it is definitely one of the most realistic-looking titles that have come out of the market lately.
